Business Units

Business Units are used to divide organizations into logical sections such as departments, companies, legal entities, or operating groups. Business Units can be used to filter other data lists thereby restricting or giving Users permission to see the data specific to sections of the organization.

To create a Business Unit click the create_new_button create button, either on the Business Unit grid accessed under the Setup tab in the main menu, or the same grid from within another form (e.g. Supplier Contract).

Doing so will open a new pop-up window with a New Business Unit form. All yellow fields in the window are required to save the form, while white fields are optional. Enter Code, Name, Address, Phone NumberAlternate Phone Number, and Fax. You can also add any Notes you wish towards the bottom of the form. Finally, it is also possible to upload additional files by clicking the create_new_button create button near the bottom right-hand corner of the screen.

To finalize all changes click the Save button near the bottom of the record. For more information on the Business Unit’s workflow see Default Workflow Status
